Double Trouble with Rob Eastaway
Cambridge Branch Online Event

13 January 2022

Date: Thursday 13th January

Time: 4.30 – 6.00 by Zoom

Rob Eastaway ‘Double Trouble’

Mental arithmetic isn’t what it was.  Back in my parents’ day, there was a daily need to compute things mentally, but with calculators and spreadsheets always readily to hand, few people these days have the time or inclination to tot up numbers or multiply things together in your head.  But there’s one mental arithmetic skill that’s worth investing in - the ability to double numbers.  So we will dabble in the delights of doubling (and halving, and other mental skills too), with ideas for how to make this a fun part of classroom maths in both primary and secondary.

Audience:  Primary and secondary teachers, anyone with a general interest in mental arithmetic.

Rob is Director of Maths Inspiration and a well-known author and public speaker https://robeastaway.com/

Please contact lynne.mcclure@cambridge.org for Zoom information near the date.
