The committee exists to promote the professional development of teachers of mathematics.

Most recently, the Committee has been finding ways in which we can implement the Membership survey results and feedback.

Let's talk Maths

with Louise Pennington and Lydia Davison. 

Delving into the FREE OUP/Voice 21 Talk for Maths Benchmarks, Louise and Lydia will discuss 5 key elements of the FREE Talk for Maths Benchmarks, honing in on the powerful combination of exploratory talk and purposeful use of manipulatives for improving Oracy and engagement in mathematics. 

Giving hints and tips, highlighting relevant research and providing links to free resources and further support for those wanting to improve talk and engagement in their maths classes.

About Lydia:

Lydia is an assistant headteacher responsible for raising standards in teaching and learning. As Maths lead at her previous schools, Lydia champions the adoption and use of manipulatives across the teaching of Mathematics from nursery to Year 6. Lydia currently works as a lead author for Oracy on Numicon Essentials for Oxford University Press. Lydia is a qualified instructional coach.
