Annual General Meeting 6 April 2023

Annual General Meeting

At the recent Annual General Meeting of the MA, held at the University of Warwick on 3rd April, members voted in favour of continuing to explore the possible coming together of the five mathematics subject associations.

This now means that the proposed new association, the Association of Mathematics in Education (AMiE) will be formed, and a new group of trustees will be appointed by the associations. The initial trustees will be made up of two representatives from the MA and the ATM, and one representative from each of AMET, NANAMIC and NAMA. There will also be two or three trustees that will be appointed to the new association that is in no way linked to any of the five current associations.

A preliminary timeline, proposed prior to the vote, can be found [here]. This lays out where we expect to be within the next 12 months in terms of moving forward.
