Congratulations to Dr Chris Pritchard on his OBE 13 January 2026

We are delighted to celebrate that Dr Chris Pritchard has been awarded an OBE in HM the Kings’ 2026 New Year Honours list for services to Mathematics Education.

Chris is a retired teacher, prominent mathematics educator and author who dedicates his time to mathematics education, particularly in Scotland. Chris is currently a co-editor of the AMiE journal Mathematics in School and has held a number of positions on the council of The Mathematical Association, being Secretary and Chair of Teaching Committee. He was also the President of The Mathematical Association for 2021-22.

Chris is also the Chair of the Scottish Mathematical Council, Secretary for the James Clerk Maxwell Foundation.
